
1930's Cyma Sterling Silver Golf Belt Buckle Watch. The sterling silver buckle measures approximately 2.30 inches wide x 1.20 inches high. After pressing the discreet button on the frame of the buckle, a Cyma watch measuring approximately 28mm x 28mm opens to a 90 degree angle.
The original silver metallic dial has a seconds register at 6 o'clock and is marked "Cyma - Swiss". The dial is in great condition having only a few age marks. The crystal is in good condition. The inside case is stamped "Brevet Dem. - Sterling Silver - 0.935 - 0125968 - 601 - Swiss" and has hallmarks. Total weight: 60.0 grams.
Conditions: Very good vintage conditions. Machine is not working.
Around 1920s, King Edward the VIII of England challenged Tavannes to custom make a watch that could be worn as a belt buckle while golfing.
The watch was a huge success and around 1929 other watch makers, such as Cartier, Hermes and LeCoultre, started producing their own versions.
